Our civil litigation casework includes over 2000 cases over 22 years including cases involving passenger motor vehicle accidents, large commercial truck accidents, pedestrian injuries, industrial injuries, human falls, surgical implant failures and sports and recreational injuries.
Criminal forensics cases addressed include wrongful death, child abuse, shootings, beatings and vehicular homicide. Computer modeling of the human body in auto accidents is performed when required in a cost effective manner (both simulations and videos).
Our core expertise is injury biomechanics relating traumatic forces, moments and torques to tolerance limits for the head, spine and all other human anatomical sites. Injury analyses include medical chart reviews, human dynamics literature and product testing in cases involving personal injury. Dr. Hannon has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research and the Department of Defense.
Dr. Hannon was a tenured professor at Northern Arizona University, College of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Dept. of Biology. In May of 2008, he retired from the University and now devotes all his time to Hannon Biomechanics Analysis.
Dr. Hannon has addressed hundreds of injury biomechanics and functional anatomy injury issues and has testified in civil and criminal cases in county, state and federal courts over the past twenty-two years.
Dr. Hannon has co-authored the first textbook published in the United States in forensic biomechanics, entitled Forensic Biomechanics, (2006; 2008) Lawyers and Judges Publishing. Additionally he serves on the Board of Associate Editors for the new international journal entitled Journal of Forensic Biomechanics
Dr. Michael Iliescu (MD), Medical Expertise
Dr. Iliescu’s specialty is in pathology and he has served as a medical examiner in Florida, Arizona, and Washington State and has completed over 1900 autopsies. He has testified in federal, state and county courts.
Dr. Iliescu is able to address wrongful death, child abuse and vehicular homicide cases from a medical examiner perspective. Furthermore, Dr. Iliescu is also able to provide the attorney client with medical opinion assisting the attorney with information regarding death investigation and the medical examiner system. Dr. Iliescu is also available to perform toxicology analysis and autopsy examinations.
Dr. Iliescu is able to provide preliminary medical opinion in other cases and help guide attorney clients to the appropriate medical specialist in cases outside the specialty of forensic pathology
